Ikariam Town View

Ikariam starts with a Town Hall which you can name, process further explained in the First Ikariam Steps guide. Each of the flags you see in your town view represent places where you can build your buildings as you expand. Shown below is the city view you get by clicking on the Show Town button on the Ikariam Menu
You may have noticed that there are three flag colours in Ikariam: Red, Blue and Yellow!
Red Flag: You can build any building that is not an ocean building or a town wall and which you have the requirements and other resources for
Blue Flag: These are places where you can build Ikariam buildings that need access to the sea
Yellow Flag: If you are viewing in Island view, you can build new Ikariam colonies on top of these flags. However, if you are viewing in Town view, then you can build a wall.
After selecting the building to construct from the menu you get when you select the flag, you must wait a certain time for it to be completed in which you can do other things in Ikariam. However, you initially can’t build more than one building at the same time in the same town. The time required for you to wait is shown below the building, as you can see in the town photo above where I am building barracks. The time varies depending on the building you’re building.
After the building is complete, you can get access to all its facilities available in Ikariam by clicking on it. Building expansion is the next stage in which you basically expand your building to become more complex and be of more help to you.

hey what do the red flags on the island for the other people mean??? and why ismy roof blue andmy flag blue?

Your roof and flag are blue, so that you can easily spot your town from the others, without having to look through all the names. The red flags, just mean that you do not own that down. I am presuming that if you take over a red-flagged town, it will turn into a blue-flagged town, meaning that you own it.

That empty space next to the Barracks your building is used for Bureacy[dont know how to spell it]which allowes you to build an extra building that, I think is unneccesary, but interesting. You need 61,920 Research Points in/from the Academy for Bureacucy. There are only 2 blue flags for ocean buildings, mainly Shipyard[requires 37 Wood AND Conversation]and Trading Port which you can build once you register/making an Ikariam account and, I think requires less wood. The other buildings you can make and where you build is up to you.
OPINION: I recommend putting Academy and Barracks near Town Hall, but this doesn’t do anything in Ikariam, just my opinion.
