How To Guarantee Pillage 100% Without Any Losses

Posted on 03.23.08 4:29PM under Tips

I’ve been using this technique in Ikariam over the past couple of days and I got thousands of crystal glass, marble, wine, sulphur and possibly about 10K+ of wood in three days alone.

I have a small army - 5 phalanx constantly in defense, 20 slingers, 4 swordsman and 14 trade ships

So how did I win all my battles? Well, the tool I’m loving at the moment and I use constantly is the Ikariam Score Search Tool. This tool displays the total score, military score, gold score and it also tells you whether the selected town has any allies.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that a town with a military score of 0 has no army whatsoever, that including war ships so you needn’t worry about having to blockade the port first - you can send in 2 slingers and they will pillage it without any problems.

So what I did was pick an island with the resource I want and preferably one that has the wonder that increases the resource gained as this way I know the towns will have a lot of the resource stored. Then check each town between level 3 and 7 to see its army and total score. A town with a total score of 300+ and military score of 0 is what you should aim for. The total score may mean that the port level is higher than 1 (most people new to the game just upgrade their port thinking it will help them and only later realize their mistake), therefore the higher the score the better the target. This means you can just send in 2 or 3 slingers and return with a full shipment of goods!

Sometimes you will only get 200 wood and maybe 10-20 of the Ikariam luxury resource but other times you might get 1k+ wood and 300-400 of the resource depending on how many trade ships you have available at home which is another important part. A little investment into 10+ ships will pay off in a matter of hours if this technique is used correctly. However, it is important to remember that I have not once been in loss - sending 2-3 slingers will cost 400 gold at most. Therefore, even if you only get 40 wood back which is very unlikely you still won’t loose money. On the other hand, if you would have to blockade the port first then launch your own army you could very well be into thousands of gold spent which is risky unless you’ve used a spy beforehand.

Okay so those are the steps to getting your first pillages if you are new to the game and don’t have huge amounts of resources. Nonetheless after you’ve raised 3 colonies, got a town level of 12+ and a larger army you may want to move and attack larger cities so you get more resources per pillage if this method begins to bore you. But by that time you will have the combat experience in Ikariam!

Now that you got the resources at home, learn how to build the ultimate defense in Ikariam so players you pillaged can’t revenge on you!

“a town with a military score of 0 has no army whatsoever”

I could say that I’ve observed that this is not true.
There is the possibility that the city in cause may have army but didn’t attack anybody (it happened to me - i sent 2 slingers, he had four, I got wiped :D)

Nonetheless, the possibility is low, so, I think it’s a good ideea to have a spy infiltrated there, specially if the city has a resonable level (3-4-5).

    Regards

Virgil, I am not sure if that’s the case. It may be that they player you attacked was online so he noticed that you’re attacking him and he decided to train a few slingers.

  4. Posted by TehBilly on 03.26.08 7:02 pm

Nick’s right, I believe. I only had a few slingers, noticed someone attack me with 11 units and was able to train up more slingers than units being sent my way.

But all in all, this tool seems to be working well so far.

I’ve tried it out and it works nicely. Stole a decent amount of resources with no resistance :)

One question though how to I send more than one trade ship to pick up the pillaged loot?

Sam, your trade ships get sent automatically if the person has more resources and a high enough trading port level to allow time for loading more than 1 ship.

    i like your method.
but everytime i attack someone, even if there is no resistance, one of my slingers dies… i don’t know why that happens…

  10. Posted by kilo on 04.12.08 1:42 pm

well i wa susing this method and i get banne
    bashing rule 6 times.

  11. Posted by Martijn on 04.15.08 7:08 am

Cause you’re pillaged one city over 6 times within 24 hours. What I wondered is: what is the number between ‘(x)’, what does it mean?

  12. Posted by Jim on 04.15.08 7:56 pm

I have the Greasemonkey addon installed, but I’m not seeing any extra info on the other towns. What am I missing? Thanks.

  13. Posted by john on 04.16.08 9:04 pm

were is the military scores list???

  14. Posted by john on 04.16.08 9:05 pm

    nvr mnd

  15. Posted by dionisius on 04.17.08 6:58 am

so, in conclusion, there will be no banned right if we only use it as overview of other’s city?
the tools is working nicely. waiting to attack more powerful enemies. XD

Wait one second…? you get banned for this?

  19. Posted by Lavender on 04.20.08 11:27 pm

The number in the brackets is the gold return for a successful pillage

  20. Posted by newguy45 on 04.20.08 11:52 pm

    (x) is the amount of gold you will get if you pillage successfully

  21. Posted by iemand on 04.21.08 5:42 pm

    hey i got a problem
it isn’t working jet and i dont know it works:S kan somebody help me??

  22. Posted by Cronus on 04.21.08 6:16 pm

I just made 50 swordsmen and uild my townhall up so that I now have 5 action points. I use the highscore search. If they have aove 300 military score I send out my ships to blockcade and if it is lower i send out 10 swordsmen. With 5 action piont I can attack 5 people at a time or send them in different attacks at the same person to make sure I get all of there reasources. It is working for me on .com/gamma and my defense is crazy so if anyone has a proly they have no way at getting ack at me.

  23. Posted by Simon on 04.22.08 10:09 am

I agree with amigones, even towns with a zero military score are taking out one of my 2 slingers every time i pillage. Why is this?
I’m getting less resources from pillaging than the 40 wood it takes to make a slinger - the last one i did I got 25 wood making a total loss of 15 cos one of them died!

Also, I am speaking with someone on the same island and the tool reports them having some military score but they only started 11 hours ago apparently and dont have any military units at all - what’s up with that??

  24. Posted by Och on 04.22.08 1:53 pm

If the pillager is on the same island as the pillaged city, is a trading port necessary in a city to have pillaged items removed from it?

I ask because I started on a new server yesterday, and this morning I noticed that I have no wine/crystal/sulpher at all, where I started with 50 of each on a different server before. I’m wondering if I got pillaged, but at this point I have no military units, no wall, and no trading port, so I’m not sure if I’d even get a pillage report. If I was pillaged, it would have to have been from one of the other cities on the island (possible, but unlikely since it’s a very undeveloped island with lv1-3 cities on it). Maybe I never had those resources in the first place?

  25. Posted by Robb on 04.24.08 12:16 pm

Cool tip. Trying it now. One question, though: Where does the Score Search Tool tell you about allies? I see the other info, but don’t know how to tell if someone is allied.

  26. Posted by Robb on 04.24.08 1:36 pm

Correction: I see now where it lists alliances–just overlooked it the first time.

I sent out two pillaging armies. Both returned empty-handed. I suspect they must have built units to defend, but in any case, it didn’t work.

Is there a way to know if someone is online to prevent them from upgrading their military when you’re on your way?

  27. Posted by joshua on 04.26.08 11:13 pm

the number between ‘(x)’ is the lootable gold
also i had recruited 10 slingers and my military score stayed at 0 till i attacked somebody

I am using this system and it is ok, not got huge returns and have lost a few slingers!
I would like to know what the number in brackets is after gold count and why do i get so little gold out of what is available?

  33. Posted by kim on 05.03.08 8:33 am

Is there more tips about ikariam?

  34. Posted by al on 05.03.08 9:39 am

    failed!!!!

Just sent a blocking fleet and troops to a town, troops get there first and turned away as they would get beaten, fleet arrived, 1 ballista, 1 ram, and were defeated by local fleet? his military score was 0!!!!

not a guarenteed system is it?

Should I put more than 2 slingers in the cities?

  37. Posted by zethra on 05.06.08 6:18 am

    Combat is finished
    Victors: zethra
    Remaining troops (-Losses)
    Slinger 2(-1) 2(-1)
zethra from Eden Nest has won the battle and pillages

But I do not know what I have won. Anybody mind to tell me how to check what I’ve won?

  38. Posted by zethra on 05.06.08 6:22 am

    By the way….

How do you upgrade your town size?

  39. Posted by Gabriel on 05.07.08 1:49 am

Guys, how go you remove greasemonkey?? pls post ur reply

  40. Posted by Jun Yen on 05.09.08 10:23 am

amigones, it’s because their town hall has some defense, and it apparently killed one of your slingers.

  41. Posted by Ikariamlover2 on 05.10.08 12:48 am

hi, millitary score said 0, he had 31 slingers :D. But its true 99% dont worry :D (x) is lootable gold

  42. Posted by Miqdad on 05.11.08 12:31 pm

This trick totally stinks.I lost my points by this method.I went from 7700-7800 to 7900-8000.
    Sorry ,u didn’t impress me.

  43. Posted by Balinor on 09.09.08 12:02 pm

i attack lower ppl on my island and always get loads great tip

To upgrade town just click on it and press upgrade

  44. Posted by The Doctor on 09.17.08 5:35 pm

Zethra, you find out what you’ve pillaged 20 minutes after the end of battle. It takes 20 min to load the ships, although if you want to check just look at your trade ships overview at the ships that say Pillage(Return). Upgrading town: go to town hall and click upgrade, like any other building.

Ikariamlover, a person can train up slingers while your attack’s on the way. Most likely he was already training them; the score checker tool has a certain amount of times between updates, so the military score can be up to about half an hour old.

Town halls can kill slingers, up to a fair amount depending on town size and town wall size. I’ve lost 9 slingers to someone who had no defenses, but a large wall and town hall.

Hi, Ikariam people! Ikariam Score Linker sounds fantastic, but it is not working in my case. :( I have Firefox, downloaded Greasemonkey and installed Score Search Tool, but still nothing. :( Any suggestions what should I do? Maybe I have to do sth more (like manage my scripts etc.)? Thanx in advance!

  47. Posted by erica on 10.08.08 3:40 pm

It doesn’t work for me either, so I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. It must have worked a year ago but not anymore.
