How To Join An Alliance
Firstly, as with most other requirements in Ikariam, you have to finish a few research steps, shown below to gain access to an embassy:
Economy: Conservation, Pulley, Wealth
Sea Faring: Deck Weapons, Ship Maintenance, Expansion, Foreign Cultures
Military: Dry Dock
Science: Well Digging, Paper, Espionage
The foreign cultures research should be the last one you’re doing as it’s the one which allows you to build the actual Ikariam embassy.

How do you actually join once you have an embassy? Does it require any diplomacy points to join?

A Level 3 or higher Embassy allows you to found or make an alliance.

You need a Level 3 Embassy[5? diplomacy Points] to found or make an alliance of your own creation.

well that will take a wile till i can start an alliance i just registered at a new world…
