Ikariam Buildings

Ikariam photo

Ikariam has a lot of buildings you can choose to build on your island you first start off with. At the start you will have a few buildings you are able to build but as you progress through the game, you will unlock a variety of buildings.

  • Academy
  • Barracks
  • Embassy
  • Hideout
  • Museum
  • Palace
  • Ship Yard
  • Tavern
  • Town Hall
  • Trade Post
  • Wall
  • Warehouse
  • Workshop

The above buildings are the main ones in Ikariam. The other type of building I have missed out are Wonders which are Island buildings in Ikariam. Each wonder can offer a different power to the people, both an Enduring Gift and a temporary gift, which is known as a Blessing. The difference between these two gifts in Ikariam is that Enduring Gifts never cease. They can affect such things as the army building, defense and mining.Blessings on the other hand are given by the Gods in Ikariam when the gifts given by the people on the Ikariam Island reaches a certain threshold and they last for 24 hours.

    you cannot build a wonder
the water fountains and other small buildings pop up automatically as either your population increases or your town hall increases. (not sure which)

  6. Posted by Alec Rave on 03.27.08 8:18 pm

    forgot:
this beta version does not have a building for the beurocracy position.

how come u cant always build a new building is it because reserch is to low becouse i just started yesterday i have al the supplies and im not upgrading or trying to multi build

  8. Posted by Glazee on 04.04.08 1:14 pm

the small extra building pop up after every 3 or so expansions of your town (the same time as the picture of your town on the island overview changes) there is also a new building called the Governors Residence which stops corruption in your towns. It takes the same amunt of resources and time to upgrade as your palace.

No, the wonder can not be built, the wonder he is referring to here is the wonder on each island (Colossus, Gaia’s, Poseidon’s temple, etc.. Blessing option is still not available in current version, so i suggest that you don’t donate gold to wonders yet..

That is wrong. There are no smaller buildings like water fountains and statues. These are simply pictures you get for upgrading your town hall. The roads get better with town hall increments as well. I am not sure exactly when they get these, but at level 16 town hall you get an aqueduct. These pictures do not do anything, except let enemy spies hide better, if you get what I mean.

Also, you need to include a governers house, and a link to how many resources needed for each level would be useful too. Along with a description of what the do and how many of what you can use with them.

Thanks boomies for pointing that out.

Since i researched having a governor to rule over pillaged citied i have no idea how to use it, also in my diplomatic pulldown it is in german, what does a military treaty entail and how do you get people to join your alliance?

  13. Posted by Jason on 04.08.08 11:28 pm

when do you get an embassy

  14. Posted by unknown on 04.09.08 5:50 pm

i´m not sure. but isn`t it so that if you have that bureacracy-thingy that you can build a branch office or something

  15. Posted by jeffdunn2010 on 04.12.08 8:48 pm

the empty space that says to build here u need beaurocrocy if u look in your library it tells u u can build an extra building. not really necicary if u ask me

HEy people, just pointing some other things about Buildings. If you want to have one of the best basic defenses in Ikariam, I sugesst you keep the TOWN WALL AND TOWN WALL AT THE SAME LEVEL! P.S. I know this stuff is obvious, I am just pointing that out

P.S.S> Governor’s Residence CAN’T be in your Captial[town you get when you first register into Ikariam], it has to be in an another colony which is another town you can make on another location on your ISLAND!
    Colonies require:

    40 people
    1250 Wood[Building Material]
    12,000 Gold
    Palace
An Empty space[Yellow flag]on an Island

  17. Posted by Ikariamlover on 04.15.08 12:58 am

ALSO, a Colony requires 5 Trade ships

  18. Posted by Ikariamlover on 04.15.08 1:04 am

To make an Embassy, you need to have 768 Research Points, Research Expansion[Seafaring],and Wealth[Economy], and I think you need a Palace as well. Most importantly, you need to research FOREIGN CULTURES

TIP:If you research Seafaring, Foreign Cultures will be the 4th thing you discover, though it dosen’t mean you don’t need to have the other requirements, because you do.

Hi to all, its really good game. I`ve played around 2 weeks and wanna to know everything about this game. Thanks for your guide-site.

  25. Posted by ikariamlover on 05.01.08 4:23 pm

Bureacy[Don’t how to spell], used for other buildings in empty space[WITHOUT A RED FLAG] require 61,920 Research Points which you acquire from Research, obviously. PS, MORE RESEARCH DONE IN LESS TiME=FULL ACADEMY SCIENTISTS + HIGHER ACADEMY LEVEL or X instead of +. I hoped I help.

  26. Posted by Ikariamlover on 05.04.08 1:13 pm

Make sure your town hall IS NOT a higher level than your wall. For each level of your town hall biger than your wallyour town wall strength lowers.

  27. Posted by ikariamlover on 05.05.08 6:14 pm

    Youforget to include Trading Post

  28. Posted by random on 05.07.08 1:43 am

hey once all those buildings are implemented will we get more spots or have to choose what buildings we prefer.

also when will they be implemented.

  29. Posted by Ikariamlover on 06.23.08 12:12 am

Oh yeah, for each level, your town wall is bigger than the town wall, the troops get a 10% decrease in strength for each level of the wall surpassing the town hall level.
